Terms of service

The service

A teacher writes up to three questions, students join with a short code and answer, and — when the teacher closes the session — an AI model grades the answers and groups them by the misconception they share. Sessions are ephemeral by design: everything is permanently deleted once a session is 7 days old.

No accounts, keep your links safe

There are no accounts or passwords. The teacher URL for a session is the only thing that grants control of it, and the results URL is the only thing that grants access to results. Anyone you give a link to can do whatever that link allows, and we cannot recover a lost link beyond what the “recent sessions” list in your own browser retains.

Acceptable use

• Use the service for its intended purpose: brief, low-stakes classroom checks for understanding.
• Don’t ask questions designed to collect personal, sensitive, or confidential information, and don’t submit such information in answers.
• Don’t submit unlawful, harassing, or abusive content, and don’t attempt to manipulate the AI grader through answer text.
• Don’t circumvent rate limits, session caps, or other technical protections, and don’t disrupt the service for others.

Teachers are responsible for the questions they ask and for using the service in line with their school’s policies. Students use the service in class under their teacher’s direction.

AI-generated results

Verdicts, answer groups, and summaries are produced by a large language model and can be wrong. They are a starting point for the teacher’s own judgment — not grades of record, assessments, or educational records. Always review results before acting on them, and don’t use them for high-stakes decisions about a student.

Ephemeral data

Every session and everything in it is automatically and permanently deleted once the session is 7 days old. There are no backups you can restore from and no way to recover expired data, so save anything you need before it expires. Your content

Teachers own their questions and students own their answers. By submitting them you give us permission to store, process (including sending answer text to an AI model for grading), and display them as needed to run the service — and nothing more. That permission ends when the data is deleted.

Availability and changes

The service is free and provided as-is. Sessions are subject to limits (such as questions per session, students per session, and creation rate limits) that may change. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service — or AI grading specifically — at any time. Given the 7-day lifetime of all data, discontinuation would not cost you anything the service hadn’t already promised to delete.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. To the same extent, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the service; our total liability for any claim is limited to $10 or the amount you paid us to use the service (which is $0), whichever is greater.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms, we’ll update this page and the date at the top; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms. Questions? Email support@habident.com.
